A friend of mine sends me a link today, and it says theres a Brazilian company called ABC Esso, who has created an adapter that lets any gasoline vehicle burn up to 100 percent ethanol.
Here's a small quote from the article:
The AutoFFV works with the vehicle's existing sensors to detect the ethanol/gasoline ratio and instructs the engine to operate accordingly. The company has developed adapters for Ford, GM, Honda, Mazda, Volvo and Toyota vehicles.
I took a few moments and browsed over to the company's website http://www.abcesso.com/ and here's a quote from them:
Converts your vehicle to 100% Flex Fuel Vehicle (FFV) ▪ Increased performance ▪ Ultrafine fuel adjustment for better efficiency ▪ Extends engine's life ▪ Vehicles original manufacturers specification kept ▪ May be removed at anytime ▪ Full flexibility when refuelling’ the following ‘(E85 or any blend of ethanol and gasoline)
The AutoFFV is currently being used in Brazil which uses Ethanol primarily.
These things are supposed to be hitting the US market pretty soon, and will probably cost between $500 and $900. No idea on installation, though.
What does everyone else thing about this?? Go, Speed Racer, Go!
